The hot dip galvanized grating forms an open carbon-steel deck with a zinc finish applied after fabrication. Welded bearing bars and cross bars make up the grid. Cut-outs, edge bands and panel divisions follow the support layout before the surface treatment is completed. Rain and wash water pass through the openings. Individual panels may be lifted where the frame and fixings provide maintenance access. The load is carried through the steel bars to the designated supports; the zinc layer provides surface protection. This combination serves platforms and access routes that need drainage and a recognizable arrangement of removable floor sections.
