Steel Grating Treads are step panels made from steel grating with side plates and, in many cases, a front nosing. They are used on industrial stairs, outdoor platforms, equipment ladders, warehouse access routes and service walkways. The open mesh lets rain, dust and small debris pass through, so the stair surface does not hold water like a closed plate. Richen produces these treads from carbon steel or stainless steel according to the stair environment. For outdoor carbon steel stairs, hot dip galvanizing is often used after cutting and welding. For indoor dry areas, painted or black steel may be enough. Before production, the width, depth, bearing bar direction, side plate thickness, bolt hole center distance and nosing style should be checked carefully, because stair parts must line up on site without forcing the installer to drill again.
